Station — Where Startups Meet Their Next Investor.
How NetClubbed engineered a high-performance startup-investor collaboration platform — connecting founders with financiers, facilitating deals, and powering meaningful partnerships at scale.
Bridging the Gap Between Great Ideas and the Capital That Funds Them.
The startup funding landscape is fractured — founders struggle to find the right investors, and financiers spend enormous time filtering through noise to find deals worth their attention. Station's vision was to eliminate that friction entirely: a single, trusted platform where startups pitch, investors discover, and both sides collaborate to close deals.
The client required a high-performance application that could handle two fundamentally different user types — startups and financiers — each with unique workflows, data access rights, and collaboration needs, all on a single shared platform with real-time responsiveness and enterprise-grade security.
NetClubbed's full-stack and DevOps team built Station end-to-end — React/Next.js SSR frontend for fast discovery, a Node.js/Hapi.js API layer, AWS Lambda serverless functions, Terraform infrastructure-as-code, Okta Auth0 for role-based identity, MongoDB for flexible deal data, and Elasticsearch for intelligent search and matching. Delivered in 12 months, on time and to full client satisfaction.
What We Built.
A dual-sided platform — every feature designed to serve both startups and investors with equal depth.
Startup Profiles & Pitch Decks
Startups build rich profiles — pitch decks, team bios, traction metrics, funding stage, and sector tags. Designed for discoverability: every field feeds directly into the Elasticsearch matching engine that surfaces them to the right investors.
Investor Discovery & Smart Matching
Elasticsearch-powered matching connects investors with startups that fit their thesis — filtered by sector, stage, geography, and deal size. Investors see a curated pipeline, not a firehose, driving faster and higher-quality deal flow.
Deal Room & Collaboration
Secure, private deal rooms for startup-investor pairs — shared document spaces, threaded conversations, deal status tracking, and milestone updates. All deal activity is version-controlled and auditable.
Dual Role-Based Access
Okta Auth0-powered identity with fully separate permission sets for startups and financiers — each user type sees a bespoke dashboard, data scope, and feature set. No role bleed, no data leakage, and MFA enforced for all accounts.
Real-Time Notifications
AWS Lambda-driven notification pipeline — startups are alerted instantly when investors view their profile or open a deal room. Investors receive updates when new matching startups join. Keeps both sides engaged without manual follow-up.
Serverless Infrastructure (IaC)
Full AWS infrastructure provisioned via Terraform — Lambda functions, API Gateway, S3 for document storage, CloudFront CDN, and VPC. Zero-downtime deployments, automatic scaling, and complete environment reproducibility across dev/staging/prod.
Results & Business Impact
- Full platform delivered within the 12-month timeline
- Dual-sided user experience — startups and investors both fully served
- Smart matching via Elasticsearch reduces investor search time dramatically
- Secure deal rooms remove the need for third-party collaboration tools
- Real-time notifications drive platform re-engagement without ad spend
- Serverless architecture scales with user growth — no re-architecture needed

How We Did It.
A 12-month build — dual-audience design led, scalable infrastructure from day one.
Discovery & Architecture
Months 1–2 — Dual-user journey mapping (startup vs investor), deal-flow data modelling, AWS infrastructure design, API contracts, Elasticsearch matching schema, and Auth0 role architecture defined before build.
UI/UX Design
Months 2–3 — Separate design systems for startup and investor dashboards — Figma mockups for profile creation, discovery feeds, deal rooms, and notification flows. Both user types sign-off before development.
Backend & Infrastructure
Months 3–7 — Node.js/Hapi.js APIs, MongoDB schemas, Elasticsearch indices, Auth0 integration, AWS Lambda event pipelines, S3 document storage, and full Terraform IaC provisioning across all environments.
Frontend Development
Months 5–9 — React/Next.js frontend developed in parallel — startup profile builder, investor discovery feed, deal room UI, notification centre, and admin panel, all SSR-optimised for fast initial load.
QA, Launch & Handover
Months 10–12 — End-to-end testing for both user types, security audit, load testing, production deployment via CI/CD, CloudWatch monitoring configured, and full technical documentation delivered.
